The Directorate of Quality Assurance and Control Unit was established in line with the NCCE Minimum standard in which it was saddled with many responsibilities among others include the following: i) The Directorate shall be responsible to the Provost ii) The Directorate shall provide guidance in the development of academic Programmes of the college iii) It shall superintend over the conception of the college calendar iv) Shall advice on needed infrastructural development that can support academic Programmes of the college v) Shall perform any other academic assignment given by the provost vi) The Directorate shall maintain internal quality self-assessment process for submission to management and NCCE vii) It shall conduct self-assessment of the institution in readiness for NCCE on accreditation exercise viii) The Directorate shall ensure quality and excellence in all activities of the college ix) It shall develop, apply, and review quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic programmes and administrative activities of the college x) It shall facilitate the creation of a learner-centered environment, conducive for quality education and academic staff professional growth xi) The Directorate shall provide feedback mechanism for students, parents and other stakeholders on quality related issues xii) Shall disseminate information on various quality parameters of teacher education xiii) It shall document all activities/programmes that lead to quality improvement xiv) Shall serve in the Academic Board, monitor teaching practice/SIWES, monitor MIS directorate, monitor examination, monitor result collation, continuous Assessments and coordinate work ethics xv) It shall generate formative data that can be used to improve the quality of the management and delivery of the NCE courses xvi) It shall provide information to the public and other interested partners about quality and standards xvii) It shall authenticate and keeps samples of students’ journals xviii) The Directorate shall ensure that quality and standards are maintained in the schools and in the college in general xix) It shall collate, analyze and provide self-assessment records of the institution and xx) Report to the management on monthly basis as the need arises xxi) The Directorate shall monitor teaching and learning in the college xxii) Report of external examiners shall be made available to the directorate xxiii) The directorate shall ensure that periodic internal accreditation is carried out
