Born about four decades ago at the ancient town of Azare, Bauchi State. Umar is currently serving as the Bursar of the college (Federal College of Education Jama’are in Bauchi State). Before then, UMAR DAUDA was engaged in researching and advancing the Science of Accountancy at the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano State where he diligently serves the Academy at various capacities for more than five years. A Doctoral candidate with Bayero University Kano (BUK), UMAR DAUDA takes passion in Professional practice of Accounting, corporate finance and Business management. This is linked to his background of B.Sc, M.Sc. and PhD (in progress) all In Accounting and finance. Mr Dauda worked in public service between 2007 and 2013, where he occupied the positions of Investment Officer and Head of Internal Audit Unit of Kano State Pension Fund Trustees and Debt Management Agency, Bauchi respectively. However, in 2014 Umar served as Admin and Finance Consultant covering Sokoto Field Office on Polio Communication with UNICEF but, for most of his career time Mr. Dauda worked with different Conglomerate Companies in Nigeria including: A.Y.M Shafa Holdings as the General Manager Accounts of the Group, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. as Chief Accountant at the Company’s Headquarters in Abuja, BUA-Group as Group Finance Officer, Kaffo Mines Ltd as GM Finance. As part of his career achievements, Umar Dauda was fully involved in the 4.5 million metric tons expansion project of BUA Group cement factory at Okpella Edo State, 3.5 million metric tons expansion project of Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Limited (CCNN). Mr Dauda also participated fully in the restructuring and promotion of Un-Masal Trading Company Ltd and New Dawn fertilizer Co. Ltd respectively. Umar is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and has being a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN); for more than ten years where he actively participates in the activities of the Institute, including membership of the Governing Council’s committees. He is also a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and a Fellow (FCTI) of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and has being participating actively in both Institutes’ affairs. UMAR DAUDA is also an active registered Professional (Accounting) with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) for more than a decade. As a holder of Post Graduate Diploma in IT application (PGDITA) Umar takes special interest in Information Technology where he undergoes/facilitates series of trainings and workshops on IT Governance & application in accounting profession including training of Professional students of both ICAN & ANAN. Umar has attended programmes and trainings at both local and international scene for professional updates, he also published a lot on Social, cultural and economic impact of Accounting and Business operations in different scholarly journals.
